And, hey, Ford advertised when Seton won the ATCC!

from 93 both johnson and seton were sponsored by ford. they were not main sponsors but there was factory support, hence the ford logos on their cars, that were missing in the xd-xe, mustang and sierra days
when cigarette sponsorship was no longer allowed, seton would have gone bust, so ford then got one of their companies/arms/subsidiaries in ford credit to come on board. he was still getting money directly form ford and also from ford credit. just like dbd needham was on board for moff in the sierra. it wasn't ford as such but was done through one of ford's companies or close partners

This is because of the "It costs how much??!!!" shock factor with the public...
The only reason they are selling Volt here is to give Holden a green image, nothing more, nothing less, hence why they have made the ads for them to try to trick the public into believing the whole company is going to help save the world. They have even admitted that at 60k they will still lose money on everyone they sell. But being seen to be green is the goal.

And its built on a 20k Cruze platform

That extra 40k you spent on it will be paid back in fuel savings, as long as you drive to Mars every week for the next 50 years.

The best thing Ford can do for now is make Falcon and Territory as closely aligned as possible
with a global platform to control costs...In essence a RWD EUCD/CD4 impersonator..

So much negativity on the forums recently. Members turning against members over such trivial ****. Everyone needs to have a coke and a smile and shut the **** up.

I love the Falcon, I've wanted one ever since I was 10 years old and wanted a an EL XR8 more than I wanted my next breath. Then I bought my BF XR6 at 19 years old and I love it more than anything. I'm shattered to think that I won't be able to buy my first new Falcon when I am in a financial position to support it because it might be discontinued, but I also know that Ford is a multinational, multibillion dollar corporation that has people much smarter than most of the people on this forum throwing their wild, unsubstantiated opinions around (not looking at anyone, davway) making long term financial decisions for them.

If this is the end, then I hope we can see the old girl out with a bang, and I know that bickering and bitching at each other over trivial 'he said, she said' **** isn't going to make things any better, or make Ford think twice about exporting Falcons to save the badge.

Why the hell did they have to go and use a dunnydore for the final product. The development mules were Ford territories FFS.

Our exchange rate won't help plus they'll need to sell at around $30K there ..
The Falcon is taken as the size of a Fairlane the way people look at vehicles these days..

Recently? Dude, it's been like this for ages. There are more Ford haters and trolls here these days than Ford enthusiasts.

As for buying a new Falcon, you'll still have 4 more years to do it, and even then you'll be able to most likely pick up a nice demo or 2nd handie after that. Start your savings plan now: that's what I'm doing so I can pick up one of the last XR6 Turbo's that come off the line.

I know man, its just been really bad recently that I've noticed.

I'm saving for a house at the moment. As much as I'd love a nice brand new XR6t or, in my dreams, a 335GT, the house needs to come first :(

Don't think so as the rise in mid sized and large SUVs tends to undermine that theory,
probably has more to do with perception of lack of utility/versatility with a large sedan.
perhaps a 5-door hatch and/or a station wagon, a la Mondeo would offer buyers more.
