going to get my wade regrind soon couple of questions for the ppl out there with a regrind cam if ur on a bit of a buget is is essential to have hd valve springs? im only using the new wade cam the 60somthing(not ot good with numbers) but i no its only mild bcos the ecu
also were is the best place to get these shims which i know all about how many do i need how much are they car ef gli i6

no springs needed,,shims you can get from ford and you'll need 12

i think there about $3 to $4 dollars and you need the 1.9mm ones from what everybody said.
i also think you add them to the one already in,so you end up with two,,have to double check on that one.

just take one of ur shime too ford then thay can get the right ones saves time having too go bk coz ther the wrong ones :P plus ther 5$ each

or you could buy a rocker rack from a wrecker and pull the shims out of that.

remove one of your shims and go and match it up for similar (slightly smaller) washers.

I was just looking through some old Wade specs sheets from when I was doing the original E-series cam testing for them...
One I didn't try was the 977B duration is 206@.050" lift is .512" phase angle is 111 (which of course can be changed to be a bit more mild like 113) I reckon this would be cracker, but it will require aftermarker springs. Dave.

yes the 977b is basicaly a highlift 1004. Being ground on a higher lift, the 0.050 timing is also increased slightly to 206deg and the tightish LSA may hamper a stock Auto ECU. But if you opt for a 113LSA this cam should be a cracker in an auto.
I've installed 3 Wade cams, 1004/110, 1386c and 1521a, all are VERY VERY diffrent.
