Hey guys, my au xr6 hp is almost due for its next service (148,000ks)
Looking through a repco catalogue I noticed there's Mobil super 2000 x2 10w40 semi synthetic oil at a pretty good price. Was under $40 I think for 5L. Has anybody used this? Have used castrol magnatec and nulon 10w30 in it before. Just wondering if this is any better? Cheers guys

5W30 is the recomended oil and it stops the common lifter tick in the AU , when using this you will notice a bit of oil use but not excessive.
the lifter tick used to annoy me and it is now gone

in the factory workshop manual it says 5W30 I think they changed it because of the lifter noise

my 2 AU's never had lifter noise..... if you got noisy lifters, then replace the noisy lifters.
10-40 is fine and stays thicker in our hot conditions, i prefer to use Valvoline Durablend on sale at supercheap atm http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...96#Description |

used to use the Mobile super s 2000 but have more recently changed to penrite and a thicker viscosity can't remember for sure what it is. The reason for the change was to accommodate the hard life the motor was coping. There was never any issues with the mobile.
