Walkinshaw are offering customers of HSV and owners of an SS a performance upgrade. However, it comes with a hefty pricetag
Limited supercharger kit for V8 Commodore as Walkinshaw marks Bathurst birthday 5 October 2012 By HAITHAM RAZAGUI WALKINSHAW Performance is celebrating 50 years of ‘The Great Race’ with a limited edition of 50 Bathurst 50th Anniversary Packs for the VE Commodore SS and HSV E-Series. The kit, priced at $21,960 including fitting, combines a supercharger and sports exhaust system that boosts performance by around 50 per cent, complemented by lowered suspension and various dress-up items. Delivering 480kW of power and 802Nm of torque on HSV cars or 460kW and 780Nm on the SS Commodore, the upgrade centres around a WP230 supercharger, ‘super sport’ steel exhaust headers and a cat-back exhaust system with carbon-fibre tailpipe trims. Lowered suspension, carbon-fibre door mirror housings, a Walkinshaw Performance-branded number plate set and sill plates plus special Bathurst Anniversary badging and build number plaque finish off the look. Customers also receive a Walkinshaw Performance golf bag with a full set of clubs, a limited-edition History of Bathurst book and an anniversary pack certificate – but increased stopping power to go with the extra grunt is an optional extra. Although aftermarket upgrades have an impact on a car’s factory warranty, Walkinshaw Performance covers the drivetrain upgrades under its own scheme. Although the Walkinshaw Performance hot-shop forged its reputation with pumped-up Commodores, it has diversified its offerings with Hummer tuning products and Irmscher accessories for other Holden products, including the Barina Spark city car, Barina light car, Captiva SUV and Aussie-built Cruze small car. In August the company announced a true-blue hot-hatch version of the Cruze, with the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine boosted from 103kW and 200Nm to become a 180kW/310Nm hand-grenade. Walkinshaw Performance asks $19,995 for a comprehensive Cruze transformation, not including the donor car, which costs from $25,040 plus on-roads, bringing the total driveaway price close to $50,000. http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...257A8E0017869E

Shes a fair bit of dough, but would bet it would transform the car

The pricing isn't that bad, but you would want to spend a few extra $$$ on brakes if you had it done to an SS!

I think personally that the up-rated brakes should be standard with this power upgrade. But overall another waste of money, especially on a commodore.
