I recently baught a BA XR6 with 80.000 km on the clock within less that 14 days of owning the vehicle I believe the front wheel bearing/hub assembly has failed, I understand with a little knowledge this can be easily replaced which I don't mind doing but I believe that only owning the car less than 14 days the car yard should repair this if anyone has suggestions on what I should do would be much appreciated thanks in advance Jason

I think these days if the car is less than 10 years old and under a certain amount of klms the car-yard does supply a 3 month warranty.....a wheel bearing assy should be covered by this....

I'm not sure on the legal side of it but the car yard should do it for you. Have you spoken to them yet?
If they don't its not really hard to do. I've done it and I only have basic tools. The one thing you will need that most basic kits won't have is a 36mm socket.

Thanks for the advise I purchased a 5 year warranty with the car but this warranty does not cover a wheel bearing so I am not sure wether there is a additional warranty that the car yard supply's, I have rung the car yard but haven't discussed the repair of the car yet as I am still waiting for my security locknut key to be delivered as the mechanics which performed the roadworthy left out of the car when it was returned to the salesman thank you all for your advice

You should have a statutory 30 day warranty of the car was purchased for over $2000. The dealer should fix it, if they don't and they are a member of a auto industry association (eg VACC), contact the industry and discuss with them, you'll be suprised how quickly they change their tune (if they are genuinely in the wrong).

A lot of aftermarket warranties don't cover wheel bearings, they are considered consumables, makes sence, there are options on warranty/insurance policies that cover these, but you obvioulsy pay more.

Not a worthless warranty, I don't know of many warrantys that covers wearable parts, it would be like making a claim for brake pads
