hey all... this is what i have planned for next saturday possibly friday...
1. Rear Main 2. Possibly Clutch while im at it 3. Sump Gasket 4. Possibly Timing Case Gasket 5. Valve Stem Seals 6. Cam Change while im at it (probably Wade 1636) 7. Possibly Valve springs if i go a heftier cam 8. New Rocker Cover Gasket 9. Possibly paint rocker cover metallic black (from blue) to match car exterior... anyone using a Wade 1636 grind? or other grind a bit beefier.. any feedback? would there be any other seals/gaskets to replace that probably have gone hard which would be easier to do at the same time... cheers, santo

Santo, seing you have a 5speed i wouldn't bother with the 1636. I'd just bolt in a 1004/114 or 977b.

OK!
1. Clutch and Rear Main Complete.... found all screws on sump loose...? 2. Oil and filter changed 3. Cam, Valve springs, Stem Seals + gaskets purchased... 4. Sourced compression tool and spring compressing tool... 5. If all goes well i should be attacking the cam and springs tomorrow + stem seals. Tensioner has to come off doesnt it? Also how would i accurately change the timing (on distributor) from 23deg to 22deg? thanks... santoitaliano

Sump screws should only be 8N or so otherwise you push the gasket out.

ok....
today did valve stem seals, heavier springs and cam, put it all together and it is all spot on... still adjusting/getting used to the new clutch... but apart from that, omg what a difference... this cam is great... im still running it in so can't really push it yet but tonight started to give it a bit and it has a lot of pull... idle is very lumpy but stable, lovely sound too...
