Default i Finished the rocket today

After all that i finaly finished painting the rocket

Yeah that does look good, I want to do the same thing to mine now LOL. Did you have to sand it back or anything? What did u do to prepare it for painting?

I have stripped mine right back to bare metal mostly, whatever the paint or powder coating they stick on from factory is a real pain to strip off completely.

i just sanded it back just the stuff that fell of and used a whole can on the Rocket cover 3 coats

you might wanto add some clear coat to make the paint stay shiny and last as well.

the cost to do it was $11 for the paint, $2 for the Degreaser and 50c for the sand paper. total $13.50

looks very nice A+ job there mate, as EA2BA said clear will work wonders, just pull her bk of mate ;) cause before u know it, sell get dirty soon an wont be much point for clear :S

thats pretty nice lookin job havnt seen that color done before, did mine saturday seein it seems the trend these days. aint got camera for coup weeks but did mine gloss black and sanded back the stripes and logos back to the steel color think it looks pretty nuts, will clear coat make any diff if its gloss to begin with?
ill chuck me own pics up coup weeks

the clear coat will keep the shiny metal bits shiny for a start, and makes it a little harder wearing then plain paint.

How long dose the paint take to dry enugh that i can drive the car as the car said it is set in 2 hours i finished painting at 11am

why do people call it a rocket cover??? it doesnt cover rockets.......

once i finished doin coats i left it for like 40 minutes max before sandin back the stripes which took like another 10 then i put it on was in a hurry to do it before dark but yeh think as soon as its touch dry get it on and will dry better from engine warmth

You don't have to take the rocker cover off to paint it. You can just leave it on and spray over the leads and stuff for good results also
