Has anyone fitted front coilovers on their EF/EL before? The only ones i currently know of that are available are the Pedders extreme and i believe Herrods sold a 'Herrod' branded setup once upon a time. Any ideas?

That looks fantastic.. massive rotor, brembo calipers and all! I'm guessing you're running the ELGT/FBT front spindle with custom made bracketry to mount the Brembos.
What sort of dampers and springs are they and how long did it take to put together? |

Shock is Bilstein with VERY stiff valving, ex production car spec with Koni threaded collars bored out to fit the Bilstein, with Eibach Main and tender spring. Saddles are Koni parts too. Top bush is custom for the 60mm spring also.. |

Good stuff.. Someone told me a while ago about Eibach springs to suit an EF/EL however all of the suspension places i have spoken to say that they don't exist. You havn't used the ones marked for use in the BA ute have you?

Nope, the same ones that the V8 supercars use....60mm coils.
Mine are a one off custom made set up for an E series, but would be easy to replicate. They are in the front of my ELXR8 at the moment, but am going to remove them and fit them to my ELGT and get either Proflex or DMS coil overs for front and rear of the XR.... More fab work... |

Those DMS coil overs do look like a good proposition.. they're fully adjustable whereas the Pedders version isn't. Coil overs in the rear would solve alot of ride height problems

You're right.. the Pedders stuff is pretty ordinary but is not too bad in terms of value for money. I've done just a touch over 100,000 kms on my Sportsryder setup and so far its stood up well.. no major complaints other than it can be a little uncomfortable at times.
The Proflex stuff looks awesome but are they available off the shelf for the Falcons?? Took a look on the site and they don't even have an Australian distributor.. Without really doing any solid research it looks like you'd have to custom fabricate the lugs for the bottoms of each shock. By having the ability to tune bound/rebound for both high and low speed scenarios you'd be able to set the thing up to handle like an M3! (provided you know what you're doing). It would be the ultimate set-up. Locating the remote resevoirs would also be a bit of a ***** though.. |

Got in contact with DMS... they don't make off the shelf stuff for the EF. So much for that idea. Anyone got the Herrods coil-overs?

Was going through some of my old info and discovered that the EL XR8 Sequential show car had coilovers all round. They make reference to a company called Australian Suspension Technology. I've done a fairly thorough search on the net but can't find anything on this mob... anyone know any additional info by any chance??

Alot of the time its the knowledge of the person that knows a particular shock can be modified to fit a certain vehicle. No one makes coil overs for E-series cars specifically, but its easy to make some fit |
