Here's a tip...it certainly wasn't 20" wheels. I'd say that's your problem right there.

Despite the "look at me" factor that people want with larger and larger wheels, on cars not designed for them they actually do throw up a few handling issues.
There's a good engineering reason they usually limit you to X-amount larger wheels, and it isn't to be a killjoy.

Sorry mate, I been sucking eggs a long time.

$45 application to VCAT ain't a problem.

Almost never costs awarded and no lawyers allowed except by mutual consent.

One can't really be bullied around by threats of legal expenses anymore by the big boys.

If the larger rims contributed to the claim...sure

Just as likely that they don't care about most mods.

If I change the colour of my car they really don't give a stuff.

(as long as if I need a repaint they will only pay for the oem colours)

Of course my original comment was that they don't need to be told about all mods and that it's only the ones that cause them more risk that concerns them...whereas some here have posted BS that all mods need to be disclosed at all times.

They usually win because they make huge profits.

Don't bother with B/S Insurers. As PXranger says..Shannons is your answer. I rang for a quote. Told them all the mods and accessories and what i wanted to insure it for (Agreed Value). Answered a few questions and sent them a few pics. They said NOT A PROBLEM. I'm now only paying half of the Alliance premium i was paying and now actually having my ride insured for it's replacement value not Red book market value. For High performance vehicles, motorcycles modified or restored or even vintage vehicles......Whatever your passion is .....YOU'D BE CRAZY TO INSURE WITH ANYBODY ELSE OTHER THAN SHANNONS.

What you tell the your insurance company is your business. I don’t really care.

If you think you are right, that is fine also.

But from my point of view and my 5 years’ experience in all areas of insurance claims, I think you have no idea what you are talking about.
