Default Short Shifter

Is anybody using one of the short shifters from BPT?
If so are they any good and whats involved in getting the boot away from the console.
Cheers,
Scott.

I've got their shortened shaft attached to my Herrod SureShift. Very nice combo.

I found the easiest way was to do the following.

1/ Unscrew the gearknob.
2/ Empty out and unscrew the centre console. I found it easier to remove the whole thing!
3/ You can lift the console, boot and all from the shifter shaft with ease. Unless you're planning to replace the boot/boot ring, etc then this saves time, damage, etc. If you want to remove the boot, not the whole console, use something like a screw driver with something soft around it to push the lugs that hold the boot to the console in. There are 3/4 (can't remember) strategically placed that you'll need to push in. It's a pain though, so centre console removal remains the easiest option I reckon.

4/ Unbolt long shaft, and pry shaft from the shifter (the rubber gasket will have bonded to either or both parts over time...)

5/ Reinstall the rubber gasket with the new shaft, bolt up, slip console/boot back over the top of the shaft and screw the gear knob back on. Screw the console back down (or refit boot if you went that way...) Bobs your uncle.
