Yes this is a thread for peoples opinion/experience/facts about k&n air filters.

Its good hearing somebody who does UOA and uses a k&n filter.
Given that you arent alarmed by any of your UOA's, if you could explain the sort of driving that you do, im sure that you can prove as to whether or not sprintman is being a troll or not.

Im now thinking i may give the k&n a go and see if it makes any difference on my ute, and whether or not it makes my oil dirtier, like i said i do alot of dirt road driving.

As for driving up until today my F6 was used as my daily always take it on a decent drive afterwork so Im never cold running it as I dont live very far from the workshop. Certainly dont drive down dusty roads etc.

I also just had a look at PHANTM tests which are pretty much inline with mine and if Im looking at them at correct Km, his Si was only high for a bit after the motor was rebuilt.

I dont disagree that its entirely possible that K&N passes more dust however my intake pipe is never dirty (removed every service to clean any engine oil from front of turbo).

The standard airbox let alone the under battery intake gets restrictive circa 350rwkw this is when I will have to go to battery relocation with a 4'' turbo side intake and guess what filter is supplied to work with this setup ;)

Maybe we should have a UOA thread and show all the other stuff they can tell you about engine health?

Im unsure in what your implying we are talking about K&N and their filtration hence my comments regarding Si. Not any other engine scenarios with opinions, make up your ******* mind man, stay on topic and prove your point.

I have a blue Finer Filter on a Torana, it’s been on it for about 20 years.

It’s never been oiled.

Does anyone know what are they like?

We are still waiting for your point to be proven. You have danced around everything and hinted anything of value would need to be discussed in PM. Also making it out like reading a UOA is some kind of god given gift that only you can do.

So please enlighten us all with the very, very bad data you have on K&N Filters. Im more than open for discussion and will happily learn if Im wrong, but over the last few days I have seen nothing to suggest so.

Can you read a UOA or can't you? I'm not going to hold your hand
