Default New Member / New AU Owner.

Hows it going?

As of tomorrow Monday 27th of Feb. I will be offically an 1999
AU Falcon Forte owner.

For the last 18 months Iv owned a 1994 VR Commodore V6..
in that time, it had some extractors thrown on with a 2.5" exhaust,
CAI and lowered 2 inches with mags, stereo, tints.. the usual stuff.
Before that I drove a VC SLE for 3 years from the age of 18-21.

The VR had clocked up 250,xxxKMs.. and it was time to replace it,
while it still had some value on it.. after searching endlessly for a
VT/VX that wasnt over priced with low KMs and in good condition..
and even considering a 4 cylinder ricer burner.. my friend bought
a 2003 AU Forte.. within a few rides in his AU.. I was now sold on
Fords. Comparing the two.. the VT and the AU.. I noticed the
difference, you just seemed to get more from the Falcon. Having
driven several VTs.. I can tell u they suck. Still looking for a
Commodore, I walked into a car yard.. right in the entrance sat,
a 1999 AU Ford Falcon Forte...

Stylish Upgrade.. check.
Over 150kw.. just, but check.
Low KMs.. 74xxxkms, check..
Dark Paint.. bonus.
Old lady owned it.. this is too good.

Then I was offered a good amount for my VR Commodore..
which means I didnt spend as much as I was intending on doing.

A few pics from my Phone..

Plans.. some 17s for starters. Maybe lower it. Maybe Extractors
and Exhaust. And Stereo of course.

Good choice mate and welcome to the forums. Nice to see people using their heads and money more wiselly these days and buying a car for its 'value/performance/bang for buck' so to say, rather than buying a car for its manafacturers name ! . For what u get in an AU, for the price u pay, you really cant go wrong ;)... nice color you chose too

Onfire you remind me of me lol. When I went looking for a car to replace my Commo I was looking at VR's but noticed a beautiful EA Ghia Series II that was ALOT cheaper (with more options too) than the prices being asked for the VP/VR's. Same thing when I went looking to replace the EA. Originally was looking at the VT/VX's without any thought of even getting another Ford but then I spotted a '99 AU Fairmont and that was it. Initially I didn't care much for the AU but it grew on me and now I wouldn't drive anything else.

Congrats to you on your new purchase. The Forte is a nice choice. I personally like the front end on the Forte's. And I like your choice of colour aswell. Have fun with it!!

Alot of people hate that grill.. personally, I like it. Especially in the same colour as the body.

Should be a good car.. only 74xxxkms, so theres plenty of life in her. Great paint also.

Plenty of life and plenty of mods to come I'm sure.

But I must warn you about the "bug"? If you've not heard of it then don't worry coz when it hits, you'll know it. And once it get's you, don't fight it. Just do what the "bug" tells you! :

I was warned but it got me and it never ends EVER and I have many receipts to prove it LOL.

Welcome to the forums :Up_to_som
