Never heard of anyone doing this but it would be a huge conversion.

I don't see the point, turboing a 4.0 sounds alot easier and alot cheaper.

why? supra engines go for heaps +3000 plus all the rest of the crap to make it go. A better bet would be turboing the 4ltr or use the 1jz cheaper or 1UZFE V8 191 kws stock.

If they put a 1jz into the xf then you could put a 2jz in exactly the same way. The only difference between the two is the stroke (head), and also the way the turbos spool up (the 2jz is sequential), and computer crap.
That would be one bloody fast car. I have seen the 2jz's for under $5000 for a half cut.

the bloke who put the 1jz bought a 2jz for 2g the only thing is it means a trip to adelaide when the stock comes in thats just the donk then wack a wolf 3d to tidy up the rest with a nice frount mount... the othere thing is the tail shaft and diff what would stand up after seing what the 1jz did to the xf ute first hand wich i belive they riped out of a quiet a nice eb xr6 that he @#$%ed so what ideas have people got for drive train |

Sounds like a good idea. Jap motor's are pretty awesome, a lot of knuckleheads won't admit it, but they're very efficient. That XF ute read was awesome!

after seeing what a 1jz is capable in the xf i think that you might be supprised at the performance you would get out of the 2jz

I wouldn't fear a EA packing a 1Jz or 2JZ, unless someone had been stupid enopugh to spend stupid amounts of money on it....

The 1Js and esp 2Js respond very well to mods and considering boosting+ power out of them is mainly a bolt on affair then it starts to make.
Personally i rekon a 1/2J Conversion will cost about the same as a good falc turbo 4.0 converison (note the GOOD). Differnet characteristics sure, but id take a 2J anyday over a turbo 4.0 Best stock motor ever! There are two guys i know of who have doen 1UZ Lexus V8 falcons. One is a member here the other has a twin turbo 1UZ with custom everything in an EB (i think). If you are looking for a 2JZ to put in ur falc im selling mine out of my supra cheap. Its non-turbo but you can do an NA-T conversion, good for 400hp stock bototm end |
