Hi All,
My low klm XR8 front drivers seat has a few small cracks appearing in just a small spot on the seat base and need approx 1/2 metre of original stock material. Any leads on a supplier much appreciated. Cheers XC50077 |

I understand that it is not the question that you were asking but is the leather repairable?
Have you thought about just sacrificing possibly a back seat so the new leather matches the rest of the interior wear wise? I had a mate trying to get some genuine perforated leather and ended up having to go aftermarket which looks good on it's own but is certainly different. |

Thanks PG,
Trimmer also suggested finding a damaged Left front or rear seat. Someone on here has mentioned getting seats repaired, maybe Pridenjoy. Not urgent ATM so will wait and see what comes up. I have FordPro wreckers close by and they may have a damaged seat. Cheers XC50077 |

Do you know anything about the hide origin - is it from an Italian house? An old trimmer showed me two similar but different leathers for a similar quest (Alfa seats to match steering wheel and gear knob), one was genuinely perforated while the other was just deeply pricked (my term).

Trimmer told me the pattern and perforation spacing are a specific FORD pattern/ pressing and were done locally, original manufacturer was sold and new owners stopped making it and quite possibly gone out of business. Realistically only need a piece 18"x20". Need to get NOS material as all other leather is like new. Cheers XC

Ford called it "Howie Leather Trim"
http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...php/photo/1392 https://www.howe.com.au/ If you have no luck find NOS material, then you may be surprised at what modern repair products can do. I would look at ColourLock or Giest, both offer the ability to colour match to each car company. https://www.colourlockaustralia.com....-products.html https://www.colourlockaustralia.com....ler-20-ml.html https://www.colourlockaustralia.com....esh-150ml.html https://detailingshed.com.au/collections/geist-uk https://detailingshed.com.au/product...olour-restorer https://detailingshed.com.au/product...sy-filler-20ml https://detailingshed.com.au/product...ring-wheel-kit There is also plenty of helpful tutorial content for this sort of thing on Youtube.

I have found a leather supplier in UK who can custom perforate to any spacing and size. I only need a small piece 20"x18" to do the base section that is closest to front of seat on drivers side only. Not getting desperate ATM and patiently hoping something pops up.Thanks for the information DFB will keep all these options in mind. I would use a cloth insert but am trying to keep this "garage queen" factory stock. Cheers XC.
