Default Need a new DPF

Hi All,

I have a 2011 LW Focus (187000 km) with dura torq turbo diesel that needs a new DPF. Wondering if anyone has a lead on where to get one without paying through the nose. Sydney pref but freight isn't too hard to organise these days.

Have you considered the exchange or cleaning services instead?

I haven't seen an exchange service but had one quote for a cleaning service that was about $600 if I removed it and delivered it to and from their premises in Sydney.

A new one delivered to my door is about $950.

Having said that I did some internet searching last night and discovered the problem might be a non-operating vaporiser preventing a regen. Will follow that up first, will remove it and have a look when I get a chance next.

For anyone looking for this or a similar solution to this problem in the future, my solution was to clean it myself. In sort I took the DPF out (had to cut the exhaust pipe), cleaned it with a pressure washer until the water came out clean, let it dry for a week, then put it back in. It took a few drives for the % soot loading value in the scanner to drop, but its now around 20%. Big difference.

The hardest bit was getting a 60mm band clamp to allow me to re-join the DPF to the old exhaust. These seem to be common in 2.25inch (57mm) and 2.5inch (63mm), and neither of these fit.

FYI
