Post Ford Transit Custom Trail . Available to order.

https://www.facebook.com/share/1CCKk...ibextid=wwXIfr
“Ford Australia has added a new all-wheel drive Trail variant to its Transit Custom line-up, with the Ford Transit Custom Trail now available to order. Priced from $61,990 plus on-road costs, the Trail is due in local Ford showrooms by the end of 2025 and is based on the most popular Trend LWB variant.

The Trail uses the same 125kW/390Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel and eight-speed automatic transmission already offered across the Transit Custom range. Crucially, the Trail adds electronically-controlled all-wheel drive – the first time AWD has been offered on an Australian Transit Custom. The brand is expanding the Transit Custom range to enhance its appeal – the eight-seat Tourneo was also recently launched locally by the company.”

Ahhh...if it has 2500kg towing with standard AWD this could replace my Vito down the track as the FWD Custom version just won't make it for the roads/load & and towing we do... and I'll probably save $20K +
Although 140kW/440Nm would be hard to give up.

The best part about this one is the SVO Paint Options
Ford also offers ‘SVO’ (Special Vehicle Options) factory paint on the Transit Custom line-up – including the Trail – for $1400, offering more than 100 colour choices.

https://www.drive.com.au/news/2025-f...trail-pricing/

What colour to pick......,
Why can't all cars have this many options?

“If you’re considering a Ford Transit Custom for towing, you’ll be delighted to know it boasts a substantial towing capacity of up to 2800kg. You can pull a hefty load, making this vehicle an excellent choice for your towing needs. But it’s not just about raw power. It’s also about trailer compatibility, weight distribution, and hitch installation.”

Would be a no brainer to add the Trail option to the Sport LWB Double Cab.

Initially I had hoped this was a Delica successor (the early ones that could go offroad, not the new ones that are AWD as well). That would've been awesome. Excitement died a little for me when I read the specs. An inch more ride height, some AT's and AWD (not 4x4) so I get the usecase of being used on worksites with poor surfacing but it isn't going to go far offroad.

Some of the Ford Transit vans look cool. Especially with the dfferent color schemes. As a commercial vehicle they could be painted up to be quite artistic to help promote a business.

In the 70s vans such as Ford Transit and Bedford were very popular.

There's plenty of people travelling around in vans. I wonder how the Ford handles compared to Hiace? I

That would be a good comparison
Well over due for one of the commercial magazines ie Prime Mover. Power Torque. Etc

Be good to have the whole group of vans compared
Toyota Ford Hyundai Kia Renault Vw Mercedes Peugeot
I wonder why Nissan Mitsubishi don’t have any offerings here in this segment

If I remember I ll ring one of these mags on Tuesday

I m driving a Hiace bus tomorrow.

Nissan stopped selling their own designed vans (Urvan) in Oz a long time ago, in the EU they sell a rebadged Trafic and Master and a few years back Mitsubishi sold the Express as a rebadged Renault Trafic as well ..very low ANCAP rating and based on the Trafic before it had a major update and safety spec upgrade, Mitsubishi dropped it soon after.

Start at the bugs on the front bumper, and work your way through to the dust on the back bumper, everything in between on those miserable, god forsaken buckets of excrement can and will be a problem.

For example, if the vehicles system doesnt recognise the side step as being up & stowed, you're going nowhere, even if the step is locked in place, even unplugging it wont help, you need to get it towed.
