WRX? Evo's are better by far, I was at eastern creek(skid pan) a while ago and ok WRX's are good, but mitsubushi have taken over the AWD scene, better looking car and its a better car to drive, mate test drove an evo9 and a current wrx, and the evo rips all over the wrx......

And plus, mr2 sure you can spend 10k or so, but its will be modified and gettn insurance, harrasment by cops and so will be a pain. You can mod a XR6t to get easy and a healthy 280rwkws and pop the bonnet, it looks stock!!!!!

Edit+K/N filter/4' high flow cat/4' dump pipe(optional)/injectors(968's),valve springs and a custom tune you looking there at a bout 4k maybe less and you'll easily get 280rwkws maybe more. But dont expect the standard clutch to last.

So price wise since you'll be looking at a second hand MR2, look at a second XR6t mk2, maybe around the 33k mark maybe less, spend just 5 k on it, and presto 280rwkw monster. Theres good gear out there for the "T" now and dont be surprised that a XR6t cant handled, with mods they can. Swaybars springs and shocks.....

Well, I like my xr6t and wouldnt get rid of it, maybe for a another 300zx tt, Sexy looking ride.....Or get both....Ah well, dude its your choice, but whateva it is, you gota stick with it. Coz regrets wont makes things right

You're just trying to talk yourself in to an MR2 by the sounds of it. If it's all you can afford, then great, go for it. But you asked the question in the first place, the MR2 is not anywhere near a XR6T or WRX, and don't try to kid yourself that it is. Simple.

Evo's aren't for looks (although they look hot). They're for the feel and the experience, there's something that they have which is unique and incredibly addictive. Yeah, a WRX is a more sensible option day to day and doesn't look as "out there" because of it's generic design, but the Evo is just that something special.

Yep. Mate I just bought a bog stock 2003 WRX and it quite frankly it sticks to the road like s*** on a blanket. The straight line performance is nothing to be sneezed at either!

There is a customer of my mechanics than has an MR2 that runs 10's apparently.. It's an absoulte bag of ****e, and a home bodge job, but it does it.

MR2, in the right hands will be just as quick as any car around any track, driver and a nimble car are the biggest factors in trackwork, especially motorkanas..

I have beaten an R33 GTR around Wanneroo in the pouring rain in my ute. It was all driver.

Go the MR2, it sounds like it will suit you better, and you will have more 'fun' in it.

Plus you'll save on fuel and you have the satisfaction of knowing your driving a proper mid-engined sports car driven by only a handful of others, compared with the thousands of people driving the tarted up taxi.

Sorry guys, my blood will always bleed blue, but there ARE some good cars out there that don't wear the blue badge.

If you don't need the extra space then get the MR2. It'll put a smile on your face.
