Gonna get my extractors, exhaust + hi flow cat (current one getting pretty rusty) during the school hols
Just wondering which extractors are best for a stock 6cyl Automatic AU? I'm hearing 4499's or 4480's are the go What is the difference and what is better? Cost really isn't that much of an issue

Go the 4499s on a non-VCT I6, or 4480s on the VCT.

Pacemaker comps (4480) are the go.
Heh I went in to get exhaust fitted and asked for pacemaker headers I ended up with 4480's thinking they were the 'wrong ones' i was spewing. Been reading a few posts about exhausts and it turns out the 4480's are the comp ones i wanted anyway. After getting your exhaust done if your budget stretches make sure you get an edit. If cost really isn't that much of an issue it sounds like you can afford both You will notice a lot more difference with the edit. Dan.

At a guess 11-14 hundred maybe less now you can get flash tuners for less than 800.00
kpm (site sponsor) have them for less than $600. you then need to find a good dyno tuner as the generic tunes supplied won't unleash as much power as a proper dyno one will. Dan.

I got comps because it was only $50 more than the others so it seemed a good idea. Goes alot better.

Are there any tests that shows pacies are better then other extractors? because I'm in the market and as AU 199 said they are only an extra $50.

1 set has longer secondarys? or somthing that puts the torque in a different spot..
the 80s work the best with VCT motors from my understanding..

The comps produce more power, ie better for higher up in the rev range, the normal pacemakers produce more torque, ie better lower down in the rev range.
It has to do with the fact that the normal pacemaker primaries are slightly larger which helps torque, whereas the skinnier primary's on the comps increase gas velocities at higher revs producing more power due to better cylinder scavenging under these conditions.
