I change my oil and oil filter every 10,000km, then the next 10,000km I change oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and spark plugs....and keep doing it in that order. Do brakes pad and discs when required.

Brakes when needed, generally around 40-50,000km.
Brake Fluid every 2 years since it's hydroscopic (attracts water) and loses efficacy Tyres rotated every 10,000km Coolant every 4-5 years from memory

sweet, so theres not much to do in terms of servicing, no timing belts ot chains???
my ignition leads are still original ford ones and im at about 40,000km should i get redy to change them>? also my car is running a bit rough, in terms of idleing and is develping flat spots any ideas???? ill give the leads and spark plugs a change and see if that fixes it. change the air filter(probly not the problem but ive been wanting a k and n pannel filter for a while now. ill check the experment tomoro morning and let use no what happens if not il try and clean the throttle body.

Belt is 150,000 from memory.
As for Leads and plugs, you're best just going to a Ford Dealer to buy the owners manual, that way you've got it all. You'll need the manual and the Service and Warranty guide

There is an owners manual on ebay for $15. You might have to buy the service book from Ford.

changed sparkies, and leads and it made no diffrence,
then i cleand the throttle with carby cleaner, disconnected the battery for a while to reset the ecu and it was all fixed. funny how a tiny bit of dirt in the throttle body can make the motor go stupid

The MAF seems to be very prone to getting dirty and running rich. I suggest you celan the exhaust pipe and see how long it takes for it to get dirty again, I reckon it'll be running a lot cleaner and leaner now and not dumping black soot.
