Hey guys i was thinking of getting the pursuit 250 front bar lip for my au xr8 11 rebel and was just wondering if anybody has fitted one before, how do they attach and is it the full front bar or just the lip?

It comes as just the lip and you need to actually cut up your existing front bar to fit the lip. The genuine Ford one is the same setup, but to buy it as a spare parts item it will come as an entire front bar and cost you somewhere around $3k.

even buying a second hand xr front bar, and chopping it up, thus keeping your original, will be cheaper than the 3 grand ford part.

They don't have to cut that much, and once the lip is on, it's one unit. It's not like you'd want to pull the lip off at some stage. I'd get a cheap second hand one, as you'll end up repainting the whole front bar anyway. I had no qualms getting my lip fitted, one of the best things I did on that car.

You're right JC, I just went ahead and cut my bar. Any halfway capable panel shop should be able to do it.
