to the moon
the highest part of the hatch to the ground is 2.1m of 6'11" in the old scale

mmm... begs the question as to why would you drive into or out of the garage with the boot/hatch open? Just wondering why that would affect your choice of vehicle.

Then do as I have done and fit a buffer pad (large enough to cover the odd inch or two in parking difference) to the inside opf the garage door. I have used a length of wood bolted to the floor to set my drive in distance.
Works for me anyway.

you can always put a strap on the door frame to limit how far it goes up. You could even go as far as having one of the struts shortened, strut repair/regas shop should be able to do it without much trouble.

Might be cheaper to change the garage door to a roller type.
