Have done a search and havn't found where it says anythink about the Clockspring connection to the air bag.I need to change my switch combination since i broke the indicator arm somehow.Is removing this spring thing a problem?.From what i have read on the forum i should be ok to remove the bag and steering wheel ok.

no, the clockspring is fine, just make sure when you take it out that you don't rotate it at all, just keep it in the same position as when you remove it. they are setup to only go so far each way so if you rotate it further than it is designed for you will break it
