A little snippet from an article off the wheels website promoting the All Ford day in Sydney comming up soon:
"Of course FPV is on a roll at present, having moved ahead of HSV in short-wheelbase sedan sales. Year to date (to end of April), FPV has sold 425 Falcon-based sedans to HSV’s 412 Commodore sedan models." Good effort considering the currrent climate, anyone have an idea on the total including utes etc? |

That is good news, although the FPV design is like 3 years newer.

That is most interesting. It could possibly explain the extreme discounting that seems to abound in the lion tents.

Thats a great effort for FPV. I find it strange though because i alot more current HSV's then FPV's, especially compared to FG's

Not much information there, overall it must be a win to HSV or they wouldn't have phrased it like that.
Things will only get better when Coyote is launched next year. http://www.wheelsmag.com.au/News/The...late=domWheels |

The VE's have been out for 3 years, the FG should have had more sales when it came out. I think holden still managed to double fg's sales the month the fg came out.
Even with the coyote, when the VF comes out, ford will struggle to top Holden. |

Ford will always have better resale than HSV you take a massive loss with team red but it amazes me that the FPV is in many ways superior to a HSV that HSV do so well in the sales race. Bogan Factor maybe?

Holden have created a brand image that is 'Australian'. Last year when I used to wear my Geelong members cap (which had a Ford logo on it), people used to give me a hard time, because "Fords suck", and Holden is "Australian". Holden have marketing their product brilliantly, and people are willing to believe what they are told, and what they want to believe. I am not a fan of Carsguide's 'Ask Smithy' section, because every week half his column are about Ford's problems. How can you create a positive image when you have commonly-read columns like that? While we'll admit that Ford is not perfect, Holden is not the darling of Australia that they may portray themselves to be.

Surely the VE has almost run its race? There must be a new facelift or model coming out soonish? Its good to see FPV match HSV, but lets be realistic.
HSV also has the Grange as well as the VXR, all it would need is 13 sold cars to match FPV, which i dare say it did, As it states SWB commodore based variants, im not sure whether the barge is counted. Its good to see the numbers closer than it has been, but when the next gen holden comes out (new powerplant or not) it will be fairly lop sided again in terms of sales, but as long as ford can be competitive its all we can ask for.

I'm very surprised about this. With the F6 being the only exception, HSV have it all over the rest of the FPV range which in my opinion don't seem to be as special for the $$ as once expected or HSV. If it is true well done FPV.

Personel preference, I wouldn't mind driving either to be honest!
I hope FPV and HSV stay competitive well into the future and give us some great performance vehicles. |

The pursuits need a more aggressive body kit, look to similar to the normal utes.
Never having owned a FPV, can you get shakers as an extra on the FPV's? |
