Just wondering what people are getting for average fuel consumption figures?
i do mainly city driving with a/c off windows down and am getting 13.6L/100km from the computer, this is with econ off and i'm pretty normal on the go pedal. Is that reasonable? |

Suppose different types of city driving, Gold Coast city driving, almost always moving at the speed limit only stopping at traffic lights, roundabouts etc. Hardly ever find myself sitting in traffic, all trips 6km+

And thus begins the discussion on the enigma which is I6 consumption.
Pure highway expect 9's Pure city expect 15's Add 20% for LPG you guess your mixture of city/highway, then work out from there.

I average 50-60% highway with the city type driving involving 5km trips to the train station cold starting twice a day. Car is like clockwork and averages between 9-10L/100km over a complete cycle for a standard AU engine plus auto in econ mode. A recent full tank of city use returned numbers of around 12L/100km...

Well I just replaced the O2 sensor in mine and I feel let down considering the claims of 100 - 150 extra k's people were getting.
A full tank o'premium got me roughly 350k's highway driving and another 100 around town. Meanwhile my smug Holden brethren gets a tad more than that doing city driving. I dont care what the fuel consumption gauge says, its a lying so-and-so IMO! Average k's changes it's mind more than my bloody girlfriend in a clothing shop... |

40 weeks of the year my driving is within 5 kms of home and usually my fuel consumption is around 14L/100k
The other 12 weeks is 3 or 4 long trips and consumption is around 10L/100k. My driving is "grandpa" around town and "spirited" on trips. |

Mate, after starting my job in the city recently, my fuel consumption has gone up a fair bit. Slow moving, with stretches of bumper to bumper, has seen my range about 400 - 450 kms. That's on a 6 cyl. Is anyone else getting these sort of figures?
Before, at uni where traffic was hardly an issue, I was easily getting 500 - 550 kms.

I'm getting 300-350 (round town) and 400-450 (hwy)on gas. That's with a 3:7 diff and 5 speed. Futura Wagon 300-350 (round town) and 450-500 (hwy) also on gas. Hwy figures also include carrying the family (myself, wife and 2 kiddies) and 4-5 days worth of gear. 3:23 diff and 4 speed auto. GK
