The Nürburgring lap time has become the ultimate benchmark for manufacturers around the globe, with brands like Dodge, Nissan and Porsche proving their worth on the Green Hell.

As though unamused by these antics, Ferrari has seemingly decided to put the bickering to an end by breaking the 7-minute barrier around the Nordschleife circuit with its track-focussed Ferrari 599XX.

The only other vid ive watched is the corvette and that justs looked scary then this thing is 20-25 odd seconds quicker and looks smooth and easily done . I not having a dip at the vette by the way just saying how impressive the ferrari is . Its amasing what a extra million will buy you .

I wonder what the guide lines are to class 599xx as a production care are ?
As far as i know there not even a road going vechicle.

You're when you say the vette was scary; the driver REFUSED to go around for another lap.

Thats what i thought , Because that was why it didn't stay on top of the top gear leaderboard.

Cheers. I mistook this for being the GTO, which is the road going version of the XX. As you say though, it's got slicks, so it doesn't count. Can't wait for the GTO to hit the 'Ring.

Now lets see him run with some goodyear regattas.

To be fair, the video refers to it as a 'production derived sports car' so its not a road car and the video at least, is not pretending it is.

Pretty sure it only takes one lap to destroy a set of street tyres on the 'ring when doing a full pelt lap.

Wonder how a Vette C6R would go round it.....

Yep me too. You will have to buy a car in europe though. All hire car companys state that your not allowed to take their cars there....

You're thinking of the FXX, based on the Enzo. This is based on the 599.
