you need to get a copy of Live Link - the sct software. plug in your x3 to both the obd2 port of the car and the usb of the laptop.

you use the X3 as a pass through device and record the info to your lap top using the live link software

ratter does the Xcal3 need to be 'paired' with a car to datalog?

Say my Xcal3 is to be used on on my T3, and I just wanted to 'datalog' a BF super pursuit.

Do I have to 'pair' the xcal3 and the pursuit, or can I just plug in the xcal into car/laptop and run up the software 'passively'?

I can read the car's strategy (HAANG), and the X3 speaks to the software and car fine... but I don't get any data?

No, you should have the X3 plug into the car and the other end into a USB port

try a couple at the start, not all of them will read,
pick some that work, save them and add more as required

i found you need to click on the graph icon in the live link and it'll select some stuff and graph it.

also may need to do a software update and let the Flash unit install on the pc

The X3 is connected to the car, no worries there.
X3 reads 'LiveLink Activated CAN Detected'
I've clicked the graph button and added a heap of inputs but everything reads '0'.
'Module' set to 'ECM #1', Rapid Packet enabled and set to 'Ford'.

If I 'Detect Processor ID' it comes back with 'HAANG' so I know the X3 and laptop are talking.

X3 is not 'paired' with the vehicle.

do not do a software update on the X3. Not sure but it may change the aussie settings and stop it tuning abilities.

update on the X3 or the livelink software?
software should not be an issue for livelink, but ot sure about the X3 if you updated that, may pay to talk to Herrods if you have updated the X3

So watching fuel and knock and then trim up fuel where it's running rich would work?
