hey guys i have a small gap in my grandmas car which i want to fill its not bad you can just here the air and water in the rain as if somethings open. It is in the passenger foot well under the dash.
does anyone know something that is able to: expand in the gap to fill areas i cant get to. block sound EXTREMELY well. water and weatherproof. Cheers guys.

big area?
get some metal to cover the area, then attach it with Sikaflex, then put primer/antirust over it... cheapo fix done :P

nah man it would be about 1-2cm wide and about 5cm long its obviously where there was a join and the old sealant over the years has gone.

Sickaflex (tectane) is a good sealant, you could fill up that gap with no problems.

if your worried about the gap, cut out a piece of tin to cover the gap and sikaflex it in then when its dry chuck a coating of Sikaflex either side to totaly seal it!

hey guys sikaflex seams to be the one im more keen on just adding a sealent instead of adding parts
the shape of the whole is kinda of like tthis \ / with the little gap i would like something that i can put in there then it will expand so no air will get through if you know what i mean? if someone could explain what sikaflex is that would be great yeah so its just something that can fill a whole and block sound really well! and is weatherproof :P thanks for the help guys im getting there on deciding a product

Yeah sikaflex 227, available at your local super-cheap etc. sticks like poo to a woollen blanket, sikaflex is a black auto sealant/glue for panels etc.

Sickaflex is a type of silicone glue mostly used in engine bays, but does not give of fumes that cause o2 sensors to play up...

Sticks like poo to a blanket, so don't get it all over your hands, I did at work and let it dry, big mistake.

Sickaflex is what they use to build cars, it is a good sound deadener.

sickaflex all the way , but um why so anxious on the noise ? hole blocked all sweet unless nans packing a 460 with straight pipes ...lol

thanks for all the help guys hahaha, sound was a thing for her because you used to be able to here the rain and air coming in like something was open and she drives on the f3 2-3times a week so you can imagine at 110km/h its pretty annoying..
haha but yeah this seams to be the stuff thanks for your help guys :P
