Cheers guys

Check your horn Cassidy... Could simply be dodgy switches, or a broken clock spring.

The clutch pedal may also be slightly down, resting on the switch.

There is a failsafe switch attached to the brake booster master cylinder (the only wires on the MC). I have had to replace this in the past as it stops the cruise from engaging. Pretty cheap to replace too if I remember correctly.
Good luck with it. Stu

Only way to check if the buttons work is to take the airbag off. You will need the anti theft t-bits to remove the airbag. Then remove switches and check with a multi-meter. That is my assumption, I am not the best with electrical

Exactly what you've described was caused by blown brake lights in my sedan. GK

You can bypass the booster switch for testing by unplugging and inserting a wire link into the plug. (NOT THE BOOSTER SIDE).

You've said the word cruise comes up, so the module is alive. The horn buttons earth through the CC, but they also use the same earth in the clock spring. The volume buttons also use that earth, so if they work, the return wiring is definitely fine. The cruise buttons do have their own feed through the clock spring though. I'd check the buttons/wiring for a voltage spike at the CC module across the Orange(Yellow trace) wire and earth, when someone presses either Set + or Set -. It will just be quick spike, and will be different for + and - buttons.

You need to measure across the Orange-yellow wire and the black* wire. *There seems to be 2 black wires on the cruise module plug, one goes to earth from the module, the other into the module from the buttons. I haven't checked their location on the plug, but one should show 12v between the orange and it with the cruise on ("Cruise" on the dash), the other should show 0v. That's the one you want. Press a set button and see if you see the voltage move. Hope I got it right this time
