Default LS ford focus interior light not on when door open

Guys, we bought a secondhand ford focus and the fusebox looks nothing like the manual not to mention there are a couple of fuses missing as well.

Anyway, the interior light has been changed to an LED light and it works in the on/off positions but when set to turn on when door open it doesn't illuminate.

No idea why and misses getting a bit cranky on late nights coming home.

Anyway suggestions on what i should be looking for?

Try pressing the door switches in and out a few times. If that doesn't work try checking if there is power at the door switches using a multimeter (if you have one) if not an auto electrician should be able to check it for you, it shouldn't take them any more than a few minutes As far as the missing fuse slots are concerned unless you have other lights, accessories etc.... that aren't working then they are possibly just blank slots. If not they may have been removed due to something shorting out :( A lot of people have been asking the same question about the fuses and the car manual being no help. It might pay you to ask your local Ford dealer and see if they have the correct diagram to suit your model, I would think they should know, but then again

Stupid question but where should I be looking for the door switches? I checked both perimeter of the door and body but didn't see any visible switch

Probably the switch is part of the door lock mechanism and not visible. If the door open warning light appears as well as the interior light not working then that is the fault area. if you do not have the door open warning when its closed the problem may be in the wiring in of the non factory interior light by previous owner.
