Default Preparing the SR for the neighbours

Well the SR is almost ready to hand to my next door neighbours.

Jobs Done:
Fairmont grille taken off, stock grille on - thanks x2 JC.
Tickford Snorkel off, stock one on.
Tickford 17's off, XR clover leaf 16's on, including spare.
Clear side repeaters off, stock orange items on.
New remote/keyfob purchased - $27 eBay item
Chrome door handles off, stock black items on.
Right window regulator replaced.
Redback exhaust replaced. Was pretty cactus.
Batteries switched from wagon to SR and vice versa. 520CCA for 620ishCCA.

To Do:
Short shift lever off, stock lever on.
Leather console lid off, plastic lid on.
Pacemakers off, stock manifold on. Pacemakers will go on the wagon.
RWC.

I'll miss the old girl, but I'll only have to look over the fence to see her! LOL!

True mik! No one will know her quirks like I will! LOL! I'll continue to service the old girl once a year for them, just for old time's sake!

Short lever off, stock item on.
Leather console lid off, stock item on.

Now for the extractors and RWC. I'm getting the extractors done by an exhaust joint through my brother in law and the RWC through a contact of my nephew! All in the family.

Aren't the armrests in the front of your XR8 leather?

Nope, not yet, but I'm hopefully organising the RWC for later this week.

I've still got to get the extractors changed over too, but that can take place after the RWC. The car is literally going next door! LOL!

I took her for a burn yesterday, gee she drives nice and smooth.

I'll take some pics at a later date, they'll not be much though, as cosmetically she's a bit shabby now. Faded paint, stocko grille, 16" clover leaf rims (which did look good on the wagon, but look puss on a sedan), clear coat peeling off the spoiler, scratched rear bumper and so on.

Stay tuned though!

Thumbs up Re: Preparing the SR for the neighbours

RWC booked for Friday. Hopefully it won't take much.

I reckon a screen, two rear tyres (which I have) and wiper blades should do it. We'll see.

Either way, the neighbours are paying for it, but I'd love it to pass without much, for their cash flow sake, and my personal satisfaction of the old girl going out in class! LOL!

RWC Items needed.

Windscreen and seal
Headlights needed a polish
One steering rack boot
Diff needed degreasing
Two tyres
A few globes

Pretty good all up. Windscreen will be done Monday, so my great neighbours will get a great car next week.

Total cost will be somewhere between $400-500

Double thumbs up.

Cheers,

GK

Local bloke I used to use as my mechanic, before I came proficient in my own servicing.

He's less than 10 mins drive from my place, and very reasonably priced.

Cheers,

Car is officially gone!

The neighbours took care of all the transfer paperwork today.

Goodbye old girl! LOL!

As for pics UK, forget about it. Car is basically bog stock now, except for Tickford ride height and 16" clover leaf rims. She's a former shadow of herself. LOL!

Signature changed, now for the avatar!

I recently had the wagon roof and tailgate resprayed, and will shortly change the front rotors for new items. I'll also be redoing the rear pads and handbrake pads also.

On the school holidays, the pacemakers will come off the SR (pre agreed with the new owners) and be swapped with the stock headers on the wagon.

Apart from those simple enough jobs, I can always dream of a V8 replacement for the I6!
