I just made a little slit in the fabric and sprayed the glue up inside. then just made sure the slit edges lined up when I pressed the lining back into place. The only way you can see it is because you know it's there and know what to look for.

You cant remove the light and console until you completely remove hoodlining from the car.
spray glue as above. I changed my hoodling myself. only took about an hour, that was pulling it out of parts car and putting it back into the daily.

Undo a few screws, cut a few wires which you can join back together with a few connectors, drop the whole hood lining out and give it to an upholstery place to recover for about $120 and then put it back in. Job done once properly instead of waiting for the next section to let go !

I paid about $150 to get it professionally done and it's one of the best things i've ever paid someone to do rather than do myself.

I asked him about custom materials as a mate wanted black suede done on his roof, he said it could be done but he wont guarantee the work at all due to weight and said it would probably sag easily.

That makes sense, more weight more chance of sagging I never thought about that.

Hi guys,
The roof lining on my AU has started to drop down. I live in Victoria, South East of Melbourne. Does anyone know of a GOOD upholsterer in my area ? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

After trying to glue mine back up & it continues to fall back down, I have utilised a half dozen clothes pegs to hold it up till I can get it done!!!

The problem is not the glue its the thin foam between the material and the hard lining you have to brush all the foam out before gluing it back in . pig of a job, Camry and couple of other have the same problem . Axiom in Dandy will replace the whole thing with the same material for around $280 . no stress had mine done last week ..more than happy with the job

I had mine done last week. Removed the roof lining dropped it off at an auto trimmer (in Melbourne). All done professionally. I fitted it back into place and looks brand new. Done for $70. Fabric used where exactly the same as original. That also included new foam underlay, which is actually what deteriorates, like whoosha said.
