Can anyone recommend a roadworthy place in Melbourne's western suburbs? The place I got the roadworthy for my Fairmont was pretty shonky, quoting wayyy too much for repairs. Just looking for a honest place that doesn't dick you around.

They're all like that these days. Nothing beat a bodgy back in the day for $100 and you do the repairs yourself.
Unfortunately they don't do that anymore in VIC due to the fines and penalties vicroads put out. My suggestion would be to have a look on true local and find a rwc mechanic in your area with good reviews on there and tell them you found them on there so they think that if they muck you around you'll ruin their ratings with a 1 star negative review |

With RWC everything must be recorded, including photos of the car at the shop.
These photos needs to be stored for 7 years. So you may think it is over the top, but you will find most places have gone the same way and will pick most things. |
