Hey folks,
I recently bought an AU ute that had an aftermarket HU in it. It was working fine, but i have since removed it to put a factory one in. But no matter which one of my factory units i put in, they wont turn on. They light up when you put the headlights on, but thats it. All fuses are good. Any thoughts? |

The original loom is still in place. I have checked all wires that were spliced for the Aftermarket one & theyre still connected.
If it is at all related, the illumination for the odometer doesnt work (all other instrument lights work) This one has truly got me beat. |

Anyone?
The aftermarket unit ran its own fuse on yellow (12v) which is removed There was a hands free running into the aftermarket which is removed There also was an old Alpine 6 stacker controller which also was removed All necessary wiring to the Factory HU is present & connected. The unit just does not turn on when the button is pressed. Even the single CD in-dash cycles when plugged in. |

For future reference....
It turns out it was the battery. If your battery is low it can power some components & not others, in this scenario it was the radio. |
