There is quite a bit of water collecting in the driver's side footwell.. I have taken off the plastic and the foam around the evaporator (i think??) is dripping wet. There doesn't seem to be moisture above it so I don't think it's coming from anything above that. I thought it was leaking where I the drain tube goes through the firewall so I siliconed it up... Now I think the drain tube may be clogged and it's backing up and leaking from the evaporator?
What is the easiest way to clear out the drain tube? I feel like the black rubber bit will break before it comes off and I can't find the other side of the tube under the car.

make sure the drain tube has not dropped off inside
then it is going outside and is not blocked un block methods find suitable size hose you can blow through to clear the drain line a compressor with a low pressure trigger nozzle if its green water . heater core leak

Thanks dirty hands. Do you know Where would be the best place to disconnect to would be? Is that black corrugated hose supposed to pull off or will I break it? Its very thin and its really tight

Oh god. I had the same problem myself.
I had to rip my car apart to expel water. There is a drain which goes into the bottom of the shell of the car. It drains onto the road/pavement. I needed to replace the plastic elbow joint (white) which was clogged up with pollen. I did a bit of driving near pine plantations when this happened. My car's interior was in pieces. Most fords have a similar drainage layout for the air con evaporator. I think in your photo you can JUST see the elbow joint. Good luck if you haven't fixed it already. |

The other cause of this in 2007 models is leaking heater connection. it is expensive to fix (see other threads. ) It should show up as declining levels of fluid in radiator overflow tank. Hop its just the aircon drain..

This happened to my Focus as well and as marg99 says above it was the heater core.
Needed to be replaced. |
