Hope it comes to Oz. This one could keep me buying Fords. Last edited by Raptor; 24-10-2016 at 11:16 AM. Reason: directly insert images to opening thread |

I think it will be based on the Ranger, so I would expect it to be global.

I'll be interested if they put a V8 in it. Don't like my chances though...

Isn't that concept done by a fan site, not done by Ford.
I think the Bronco they will get is already here. We call it the Everest. Quote:

Every 4-6 months this story resurfaces pretending to be "news".
Just set your alarm clock for 16th April 2017 for the next Bronco update. |

Unfortunately - not likely, from what I've heard its the Everest with a Bronco Badge, not even a 2 door.
Prado has a 2 door version, and the Canned FJ cruiser but I see very few of them on the road. so I can see Ford going out if their way.

If it were to look like that, for some reason I envisage it with only the Coyote engine available.

The confirmation that Ranger & Bronco to be re-introduced to the US (and manufactured there) was news a few weeks and so far the only good thing to come from Trumps US election campaign

I wonder if it'll be a rebadged Everest, or if they'll go the 2 door route for it.
I've always been a fan of the 2 door, full cabin. Loved the 4runners when I was a kid, and had a 1990 Pathfinder. If it is two door, I suspect they won't bother with a RHD version, as it'll probably basically still be an Everest. |

Thanks Raptor for attaching those pics to the first post.
I have a thing for 2 door 4wds, had FJ73 which I loved for a while. Also have a thing for petrol and auto 2 door 4wds on sand, so that's a big "yes" to that render with a Coyote in it! Has anyone noticed how expensive the used Bronco's are in Australia? |

I'm going to guess 2.0 EcoBoost is a given to compete against the upcoming Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0 turbo. Maybe Ford will go 2.3 for a competitive advantage. I think 2.7 EcoBoost as an option would make sense. I suspect one or both of the diesels that is offered in the Ranger. Lion V6 diesel would be better. Possibly a 3.5 V6 naturally aspirated to compete against the V6 Jeep. I don't think we will see a 5.0 V8, and I would say 0% chance on the V8 diesel.

Though the Ford Bronco and its Ranger pickup sibling will be built in Michigan, development of the two vehicles is reportedly happening far, far away. According to Motoring, Ford's Asia-Pacific Product Development Center in Australia is developing the new SUV along with updated versions of the Ranger truck and Everest SUV. The publication cites anonymous sources as well as spied test mules as evidence of this. It all makes sense, too. Motoring mentions that the same Ford branch was responsible for the T6 chassis that underpins the current Ranger and Everest. It would be natural for the same division to work on updating the chassis for newer versions and the US-spec vehicles. Motoring does add that the Bronco will have unique styling compared with the Ranger and Everest, and the publication believes the final design will be decided by Ford's American office. In the unlikely case Ford designers are looking for design inspiration, we suggest the above renderings from Bronco6g.com. |

You could almost base a 70's retro Escort off the front end look of those Bronco renderings.

Yes, RDC in Geelong, the Lara Proving ground (and a new two story building there) and 3 huge buildings full of engineers in Campbellfield sound like they are a few more than those in a building in Richmond don't they ? |
