Default BA Falcon Instrument Cluster on AU Wiring Harness

Hi all. Just wondering how I can adapt a BA instrunet cluster to my AU wiring harness. Is it possible to drive the instruments without the CAN bus setup from the BA?

I happy to have a go but no idea where to start realy. I have found some wiring information here but the can bus in the BA doesnt appear to exist in the AU.

Exactly. You'll need to find some way to recreate the CANBUS signals to the BA cluster.

Why the interest in putting a BA cluster in an AU?

I have an old car that I have fitted the AU V8 running gear in as well as the wiring harness however the AU insrtrument cluster is too long for the original opening in the old cars dash panel. I have a BA cluster that is shorter and will fit so the reason for wanting to adapt the wiring. I am starting to think maybe change to BA wiring and throw the AU stuff out but then I have a V8 manual from the AU donor car and I guess I would be needing a V8 manual harness from a BA?

Best just to use whatever harness you've got to run the engine and do something with aftermarket gauges

Yep I think I will give the BA cluster a miss and chop the dash to fit the AU instead thanks for your input
