Hello everyone
Since I bought my EB2 and have started driving around with the sounds off to enjoy the smooth burble of the straight six I have noticed an annoying sound.. When I apply the throttle I can hear a distinct clicking noise coming from I think the left hand side? When I lift my foot completely off the pedal and coast then the clicking stops. When I gas it again the clicking comes back. The clicking is very similar to the sound a crappy old front driven car makes going around a corner. But ive got the damm clicking going in a straight line in a rear driven Ford! Sigh.. please help. One other thing while I have you it is normal to hear road sounds thru my drivers door do these EB2's have bad door seals sometimes or has mine had a wack? Thanks for your help everyone who answers.

If its just a ticking noise when you hit the juice then it will be injectors. Its just noisy valve pulse operation in the injectors.

If its noisey injectors can it be made quieter? The sound comes from the left hand side (passenger).
The sound ONLY comes when I put touch the go pedal. Its like "click click click click" etc... Sigh... Got to love old cars eh? :

Injectors are only so noisey, you shouldnt really hear them from the drivers seat unless they are very large high-flow injectors, but you usually only just hear them at idle. check all these:
Your purge valve touching the body of your car Pinging (Use Higher Octane Fuel, Check Ign. Timming, Check Compression And Temps) Lifter Noise (Use Thicker Oil, Replace All Lifters, Check Rocker Arms For Wear) Ceck coil arcing on block Check worn main bearings Check Chain and Guides |
