Ok, so only a week ago or so I posted that I was finished spending money on the Focus to concentrate on my RS2000 Turbo project!
Well, the plan lasted longer than last time. Here are some new bits and pieces I bought for the Focus to have a bit of a play with! :monkes: What can I say, I got bored. So my plans are to design up and manufacture a box to keep the hot engine air away from the airfilter (and there-by making it legal in NSW by enclosing it in a box that seals against the bonnet, so you can see it when the bonnet comes up! :Reverend: ), either ducting cold air into it or cutting a scoop into the bonnet. I don't really know yet, it's something for me to play with over the next couple weeks anyway. The polished and blue look goes with my car, so that worked out ok. Oh, and I don't care at all how it affects performance, it's just extra shiny bits, but I will see how it does for those who do care! Anyways, have fun! Tim |

Thanks for the replies.
Everyone has commented on the sound, but really I am not after a change in noise, my Focus sounds fine the way it is, I guess I hadn't even thought about that part. It's purely just for looks, I'm not scared to admit it, and also something to play with and manufacture stuff for to keep it legal. If it changes the noise of the car, then so be it, if not, cool. We'll see how it goes anyway! Something to play with on a rainy day. Tim |

Nice one Tim. Should look great under the bonnet. I am sure there will be some slight performance gains. Keep us posted on how it goes.
Something like the Volant would be nice. I have been looking at this intake for a while now. I beleive that there is also a bonnet that mates quite well with this with a cut out. I cannot find the pics at the moment. |

I'm not even sure that car is fitted with a bonnet in that photo!
:gren: But I would guess yes, as that's what I am looking at doing as well. Only thing that sucks is when some stooge comes along and pours honey down the scoop, especially when you don't realise until you have driven the car. Happened to an ex-workmate who owned a Commodore, its gotta suck. Tim |

MMmmmmm I can assure you a Zetec engine with a pod sounds absolutely SENSATIONAL, very very throaty and gorgeous. With your system it would be heaven on Earth. A mate here has a Zetec 2.0 manual with nothing but a pod and it is amazing. I just outgun him on the quarter and especially up a hill but off the line he has a hard sharp punch. His problem is the stock exhaust, if he had that upgraded he'd cream me. I'm just running a panel with my zorst which still sounds awesome, but not audible from more than a few metres away.
