The following diagram should "fix" your monster tacho for good:

Don't put a monster tacho in a E-Series mate. Seriously.

Geese you fellas are real helpful. Go to the Autometer website think they have schematics and diagrams of that kind. As for getting to your ignition easier, not shure. Is there a tacho factory fitted to the car? Maybe use this to your advantage. I don't think theres any easy way, however i'm yet to tackle this job. Good luck.

Sorry, was only sh!tstirring mate.
Good luck with the install, and I'll bite my tongue regarding the monster tacho. After all, I like 15" rims, when it seems that 17s are the mandatory minimum for E-Seris owners : -Dave- |

Ghia5L - ROFL, spot on there.
Anyway, your car, do what you want, take some pics for us when your done though. I need a good laugh this time of the week. Tacho signal can be taken from the diagnostic port, the instrument cluster (blue pink wire going to the RHS plug), or the cruise control (my cruise doesnt have it though). Use the stereo for ingition on power and earth.
