3 inch yes, don't know about 3.5inch (alot of places wont even attempt 3 inch, so i doubt that 3.5 inch would go) Why the hell would you want an exhaust that big anyway??

Overkill on a 4.0L unless you have a turbo.

wouldn't go 3.5", go twin 2.5 if you need bigger then 3"
pyroay was looking to go bigger then his 3" exhaust, but he was pushing near enought o 400rwkw before needing to go bigger, i'm fairly sure he decided to go for a twin 2.5" system.

A few people like Kyle Hopf have put full 4 inch systems in, so it can be done. Apparently it's not that easy though.

3" will be fine for that setup....... maybe even starting towards overkill.....
3.5" would start to loose you power IMO, its all about backpreasure |

Kyle's 4" was apparently over the diff, I remember him talking about it on performance forums.
For N/A I would have thought 2.75" was getting silly... |

for a turbo I6.. 3" is perfect.
for an n/a I6 2.5 is the norm.

apparently yes though I wouldnt know by how much
Eseries falcons like a bit of backpressure, hence why some press bent extractors around out perform mandrel bent equivalents. Leave 3in for induction

We run a 3.5" system on John's car, over the diff and vent the screamer to atmosphere under the car, we cut into the spare wheel well to make room for the big stainless rear/only muffler although you dont have to. Proper mandrel bent exhausts are expensive and once you go 3.5" or bigger it gets expensive real quick. Expect to pay a fair bit although if you like making good power and having great boost response its really worth it.
Cheers MRD P.S. Thanks for letting me take Steamboat for a squirt tonight John, even with the boost wound down it halls ***, I'd forgotten how much mumbo its got. Cant wait to see it on the strip, should be an eye opener. |

N/A 2.5" is on the money for a street engine, however I did see a speedway EF on methanol making big mumbo running 2.25" at one stage but only 1 muffler and exiting under the door so thats a little different. Last edited by MRD-Ben; 27-08-2005 at 10:37 AM. |

I was thinking that a 3.5 inch exhaust was 'autobarn blitz' style! 2.5 is on the money for us N/A engines.
