Default insulation to cai box and pipe

After reading most threads on cai and such i gave the original box a makeover and also the inlet pipe to the box a wrap in aircell , a product i sell for houses etc but works on the principle of reflective air space . thus reducing an average 40% heat. the inlet not wrapped the first test and using a digital thermocoupler did not vary the inlet temp (placed after sensor) by way of 5 deg . but after wrapping the inlet pipe as well as the maf pipe to the box (looked poxy) dropped by 20 deg , with this i dropped the ecu down and reset it and obviously (no dyno) dont know the difference but i could tell once up to normal operating temp it was more responsive as where it was not before . funny and may be my imagination but i live at an altitude 1100mtrs above sea level and a drive into bathurst or lower the car has different characteristics ,

the theory that was mentioned in prior threads does have merit and i couldnt help but try it out , curious on older v8 i used tunnel risers to improve torque does the same principle apply to injected motors?
