Default Whos mistake?

I ordered a set of superlows for the front of my fairlane and the guy at the spares shop orders king lows instead. (KFFL-26) He tells me he couldnt find superlows in the catalogue so he called up king springs and they said lows are superlow equivalents in Fairlanes. So now i am stuck with a car that is at low ride height. They guy at the auto store says I can swap the springs over but it will cost me $20 in shipping because he ordered the right springs to begin with? Do I pay the $20 or just live with lows? Also anyone want to swap a set of front king lows for superlows?
Cheers.

Throw thwe springs at him and demand ya money back.

If you order one thing and he gets another that his is problem, not yours.

not if the supply company says so,,if he rings the supplier and the say that is what they are then your stuck with them,,,he only ordered what the supplier allowed him to order..$20 is not bad.

if you don't like it then you have to contact the supplier and work it out with them..the customer is not always right contrary to popular belief...

^^^^^does that mean if I order a specific part and a supplier says nah this'll do I'm stuck with it....I don't think so if I were to order one thing and get something completely different I would want a hell of a lot of evidence to support the substitution. Just because a supplier says "It's the same as..." does not mean that it is. I do agree contact the supplier OR get the guy to do it while you are there and get them to substantiate their substitution.

Well according to the 2005 King Springs catalog it doesnt list a superlow for Fairlane, despite of course it having the same springs as a Falcon.

yep basicly if the bloke rings up and says i'll order this but the supplier says no the other is the right one then he has to accept it,,and so does the customer..on the other hand if the substitution is not warrented or can't be justified IE: i can't be bothered take this it's the same : then you have a reason to complain...you can only order what the supplier can supply,,no point in jumping up and down when the supplier says you can only order this for that...and if what the supplier supplies is not what you wanted you either get your money back and go somewhere else or as i said before get the bloke to contact the supplier or contact them yourself...most people have been there..

if KFFL-26 is suited to falcon and fairlane why wouldn't KFFL-26SL also be suited to both.....Also remember superlows are illegal for use on public roads...

Only illegal if the car drops lower than 100mm.
Ive got SuperSuperlows and mine is still above that height. (due to my Bilstien shocks I think)

Rubbish. So long as your car maintains the minimum ride height theres nothing illegal about them.

Reguardless of the supplier being able to get them, they are not what you ordered. If he couldn't get them he should of let you know. Don't pay a cent, go elsewhere.

Did he tell you what he was delivering to you at time of hand over of goods? If so why did you accept them - and what sounds like you have fitted them to your car (sorry if that isn't right). If you accepted what he said, paid for the goods, fitted them to your car, $20 is dirt cheap for restocking fee for what is now second hand goods.

Again a restocking fee is common place if you have taken goods offsite after paying for them.

If the seller told you that they were not Super Lows, and that Super Lows didn't exist for a Fairlane and that Lows were the only option. You could have stopped the transaction then... and done your own research to validate this option.

I walked in and asked for a set of front superlows to suit a NC Fairlaine. He said no worries he'll have them tomorrow morning. I paid with eftpos and left. Came back the next day to find he ordered lows. He said they will lower a Fairlane to superlow spec. So I said fine.. took them and fitted them. Thing is technically they do lower it to superlow spec which is 50mm below standard. So technically he is right I guess. Anyway its all sorted now

Sorry that is a huge slab of utter garbage.

If it is not EXACTLY what you ordered the shop has NO right to substitue it for another part without your concent. Ask for a 100% refund, REFUSE to pay any shipping and take your business elseware.

Costs em nothing to get stuff from suppliers.

Stick it to the man!!!

If you got problems Steve let me know, I like arguing with bullsh|t people like that and especially when it wasn't your fault. But if your happy with the springs, then it's all good. By the way... how many times have you changed the springs in your Fairlane, anything you put in there looks the same to me, your car is weird! LOL :P
