If I had a non VCT... I'd actually get the DEV4 JMM cam. It seems to work exceptionally well after 3000rpm. Otherwise some of the more lumpy wade cams would probably be decent too as most of them seem to work in the E series autos but had idle issues that the stall may help overcome.

All the stalling problems in E-Series 6's [And AU's I pressume] with big cams and stock ECU's is from the MAP sensor trying to achieve the target MAP signal, but the cam can only provide slightly lower vacuum, so the ECU has a fit.

What other mods do you have? Any cam where the powerband starts at 2500-3000 will suit the convertor, but not so much the rest of the stock parts on the car.

How do JMM stop the auto going into limp home mode with the 3000 stall?

Sorry, wasnt aware that that what the issues were. The AU is different and, with basically no Wade cams really avaliable and the crow cams being pretty much hopeless there isnt a lot of choices for the AU anymore. I am not sure what hamo has but its not JMM, apart from that near on all the AU I6 cars I can think of are running JMM cams anyhow.. and none really have major idle issues.

No idea but, apart from cooking the trans oil but just sitting and stalling at 3000rpm, it never does it. I have only had it go into limphome once and I did it deliberatly but stalling up to 3000rpm and holding it there.. (actually, could stall to 3200rpm, Sprint_ED was with me at the time). As far as I know they just put the stall in and the ECU seems to deal with it just fine. That said the fastest way to launch it (in mine) is to only stall to 1700-1900rpm then flash it to 3000+rpm as you release the brakes.. any higher stall and you seem to just sit and smoke the tyres.

Around the $1k mark, that also includes a Oil Cooler.

Hamo is running a Crow Cam by the way. Although he has also got chiptorque and unichip to control it, as well as the hi stall. So he gets the best use out of the Crow cam.

Useless has another sort of stall in his au wagon and hasnt had a limp home issue either. Maybe the AU's dont really have that much of an issue afterall.

My stall converter is 3300 stall speed and it is an efficient little bugger.I can stall it from Sydney to Melbourne and not have limp, home until the universal joints snap. I dont know why? On Spiro at autotech engineerings dyno it showed no loss at all.

what brand is your stall? any more information?

TCE stalls are a hell of a lot cheaper than JMM.

Who is tce? Guys...seriously it was folly and comedy of errors which led me to this converter.Wait and see what it does. Maybe my car has issues like it owner and doesnt go into limp home mode?

Maybe JMM and dominator get better results?

I think the question's intention was. "Who is the manufacturer of the JMM converters"

My converter i from torque converter indutries in Seven Hills. It is good.I asked for a 2500 stall because of fear mongering on the forum and by mistake it turned out to be 3300 stall speed. I suppose they did not count on my engine torque pushing it that high. But it is all heavy duty.I think I paid 330? It cost me 220 to install at j and j performance transmissions in Yennora.

Now I just hope it works on the 1/4

Does yours still have lockup, like the Dominator/TCE/JMM converters do?

ok, sounds like im going to ring TCI then.

im guessing $200-$300 is about normal for a fitting price? given its normally $100ish for a service, and that doesnt involve dropping the trans!

TCE ones go for ~$400 iirc.
