Default Power steering pump noise

since iv chucked my new engine in, everytime i start up, i hear this noise coming from the pump, its always there, its never empty, dosent lose oil or nothing, ive got threw 3 alrdy and same result, steering is still fine, i can still turn the wheel left and right no probems, so its doing its job, its just the noise, has anyone had a problem like this before

i was told that u have to fill to a sertian level or something, for it to stop the noise, others tell me get the pump recoed, but im not gonna be doin that

can anyone help me out, its anoying the hell out of me and makes the car sound like crap lol

it will be the idler pully bearing. change that and see how you go.

yeah is it a squeak squeak squeak lol
i get that on start up but gos away after a little rev
thought it may be my harmonic balancer thingy...somthing along the lines of belts and pulleys

The oil you replaced the pump with could be too thin/thick

Yeah my EL has a noisy idler pulley at the moment. Basically same noise as you, in fact I thought it was the p/steering pump until a mechanic pointed out that it was in fact the idler. One day I'll get around to replacing it. Pity the whole idler assembly costs about $190 from RIPCO it:

it ante the idler pully its a brand spanker and was replaced like a month ago
i think the pumps dryed out wen wey had it of the block wen we striped it would this b the prob?

dosent sound like the pully
like i said b4, weve gone threw 3 and there all the same, i doubt there all stuffed pullys

ok, changed another steerin pump, its noiser than ever this time :S
im absoletly stumped atm, its nothing to do wit the steering rack is it?
i really want this nosie gone

have you started the car with the pump not connected? maybe its not the pump?
