Hi all,
I am thinking of buying a stuffed engine so i can rip apart and get an understanding of what the engine has, and how everything is put together. I'm hoping this way i will be able to learn how to dismantle and put one together so I can hopefully rebuild an old 351 to my own specs one day. So how much could I pic up a blown 6 or v8 carby engine for? Also would there be any other way of getting the engine out of a trailer without using the hoist? Thanks in advance Bill |

IMO you dont wanna get a "stuffed" engine, you're only making trouble for youself..
get a 302 clevo, you can pick em up for nicks.... if you've got a couple of berly mates, they should be able to pick it up by each exhaust manifold ( one of my mates has to friends that come in handy for this lol) if not, an engine crane will be quite fine for lifting it out of a ute or trailer |

Why not just buy an engine manual, heaps cheaper, makes less mess and takes up less room.

Hands on is the best way to lern, get an old 6 or 8 that works so when you put it back together it should work, its just when you have parts left over is when your up creak

How much could i pick up a 6 cylinder carbie engine for. One that is on the brink of dieing?
I'm thinking of doing it when I come back from my trip in mid Feb. For greeks like myself, January is a busy time of the year and my folks would skitz if I brought an engine home and had it lieing in tha backyard during this time of the year. Bill |
