Hey all,
I'm about to change my car insurance to Just Cars, and the guy mentioned that the car needs to be fitted with an Immobiliser. I have an AUII XR, did they come out with factory immobiliser and is that the same thing?? thanks a bunch. |

Check your manual, but I'm sure they did.

Yes they did..
They never asked me about immobilisers or anything when I opted for them (AU1 XR6).. was a hefty price though ($2200ish) but then again im under 25.. |

You need to check with them what standards the immobiliser has to comply with for them to accept it.
For my insurance it had to be 3 point, passive arming, all black wiring, and either a pin pad or code hopping remotes. Further, if I had wanted to insure a WRX with them they require a tracking device fitted and enabled at all times. From reading previous threads on the subject I think we figured that the factory immobiliser is only 2 point. Personally, I'd still get another one fitted, just for the extra security.

I went for a quote at Just Cars, man they are expensive and not interested in mods. I think all Fords EF onwards come with immobilizer.

I enquired with a fwew places regarding insurance ... and I want back to NRMA ... shock horror. It worked out cheaper for me ... and they weren't too fussed with mods.
When adding nudge bar and driving lightd my premium went down as they were classed as protection items ... go figure. Also multiple policies help as well.
