Default Upgrading Au H/u

i have an au2 monty ghia, with premo sound, and i want to choof off the standard unit and put in my alpine. ive looked @ aerpro and they have one for "au1", which i guarantee is too small for the au1. anyhoos, i am after how to install single din h/u into 2xdin au's without looking messy.

hey buddy ive just installed my pioneer h/u into my au...looks shmick

just go to ford....get the secong din holder for underneath under 20 bucks...fit this in....just clips in follows the contore of it.....now just mount ur stereo sleeve into the single din and slid in cd player

also i didnt want to cut ne wires so i went to supercheap and payed 22 bucks for the harness that clips into the au plus and all u have to do it to solder ur alpine harness up

yeh, mines a 6 stacker/caseete deck.

im not sure if the wiring plugs are the same in the forte.

Burley, is yours a series 2 as well? what was the part number you got?

no longer possible unless u wire it up urself ... there used to be an adapter years and years ago

CARSIK had a thread in the Audio/Interior forum about a new adaptor for all models of headunits.

dont know the part number just go to ford tell them wat u want double din pocket

mines a series 1 xr6...all wiring is the same....series 1 2 and 3....my old ford cd player is in my mates series 2 au who had a tape player
plugs fitted easy

If you chuck in a AUII/III into an AUI, the Steering Controls wont work.

And with aftermarket headunits you need an adapter for the Steering Controls to work.

They're are a few brands about. Do a search.
