Has anyone used an Aunger brand cold air intake?
Where did u get it? Did it make any difference? How much$$? I have heard that they are better and lots cheaper than SS Inductions and the other mobs out there. Its going on a AU1 XR8 manual with exhaust and K@N filter. |

I dont know why people bother spending so much on this sort of crap.
You will find that for the majority of the cars that the stock airbox and tickford snorkel is plenty. Now for a fast and cheap way of getting more air in the airbox, why dont you get yourself the rubber snorkel piece of a BA XR8 cai setup, a tube of urethane and chop a hole in the front of your stock airbox, fit that snorkel, and it will draw nice air from right behind the head lights. All for less than $100, and a couple of hours work. phil.

The Aunger Intakes are $199 and are stocked at Autobarn stoes.
Click the link below to have a look at one that I installed on to my car. The steel deflector you see in this pic is not supplied with the intake, I made this to force air (while driving) straight into the intake from the grille. http://www.fordforums.com.au/attachm...chmentid=10233 |

I pinched my Dad's Aunger CAI when I got my XR6 - he originally got it from Autobarn - noticed a definite improvement on throttle response and a bit high end. I emailed SS inductions and got the deflector from them for $25 - had to make them believe that my original one had been damaged. :

I've got the Tickford snorkle and modified my stock airbox to take air in from behind the headlight. Its ok but I'll get one of these soon... now THIS is an AU intake!!!

Cost? About $650 so not a cheap mod but a damn effective one. No more intake mods for me after this one. I think Whoosha's AU V8 picked up 7rwkw just with this mod alone. Thats about as good as any CAI is ever going to get. Theres one like it for the BA's as well that has been raved over.
