I hate insurance. An ything that is even a little bit un-factory-ish, they will try to sting you for! Makes me angry!

Going to make the Fairmont Ghia woodgrain pieces in Carbon fibre. So factory yet custom.

Russ, thanks very much.

cheif.. you avatar cracks me up every single time I see it.. :

And yes.. some of the trim in here can be "customised" and still be factory. I know DeathXR has some stunning snakeskin style patterns on his doorhandles and other bits that just looks amazing.

I think the best bit about this is Russ as spent a lot of time organizing all this into "groups" that make it so easy to find. No small task.

Yeah thanks to Russ for putting the information up on the forum ... and also for Casper to get a few links together to keep it all in one place.

I already have a few bits and pieces from that list in my ute .... now I found a couple more items that I am interested in .... now I am getting used to stripping and putting back my door trims and centre console ... I could do it blind folded .. LOL

Looks like Suede door armrests are my shopping list next .... hee hee.
I couldn't see a centre console lid though ... I might have to go and get that custom done I guess ... along with the door card inserts (looks like it will be the cheapest way to do it).

I'm not sure how small custom interior pieces should affect insurance? "Sorry, we're not going to make good on your claim, you can't have a custom painted centre console..." They might not replace it with a custom painted centre console should it get damaged in some way though.

I'm in a good position now myself, having a modified policy with Shannons that lets me do anything to the car, provided it's legal.

That lists is very helpful. There seem to be a few variations of the door spears which ones are the good ones?

I'll try and work some of the line drawings into the docs - anyone with pics of the genuine items can send them to me HERE and I'll include them in the relevant articles.

The T-Series door spears are in "raindrops" - there was another pattern but it's NLA.

Cheers
Russ

Can i ask Russ , how did you manage to get hold of what looks to be the entire late model falcon parts database?

Here's a few items.
LG has more installed in his sedan ... and a few others as well.
Sorry my pics aren't the clearest.

Those handles looks nice. I'd love the chrose shifter surround but I have an adaptive shift auto and those chrome shifter surrounds come only made for cars with the economy button I beleive? Also the chrome hanbrake button looks nice but I heard you can only get it if you replace the whole handbrake ratchet assembly?

Other mods I have are the momo gear and steer with chrome button on the shifter, AU classic centre dash surround and the black assoicated buttons that go with it. Looks better than that crap cream centre on a black dash. Also have Pioneer MP3 headunit with peice that that underneath the forte cassette deck. Definately an improvment over standard XR interior.

If you can get it though ... the chrome handbrake button just screws on and off.
But I bought the entire handbrake handle/ratchet/boot to replace mine ... a little on the pricey side I guess ... but it completes the look now on the centre console (when I get it fitted that is.)

I'll have the whole center auto surround for sale soon. So you can switch from an adaptive shift, to a power/econ style, with chrome auto surround.

Just like Mal did.

Good write up. But I think my interior's set for now. I dont need anything more. Just stereo, and i'll get some quotes soon to get my seats done.

Cheers

I'm still trying to find the "add 40rwkw" button on the list :

Actually, the chrome Boot Ornament is interesting.. wouldnt look too bad on my car. I remember philbie did it on his black BA XR8 and it looked stunnning.

I have added the line drawings for the door trims and seats to the Gallery section. These are fairly large diagrams at ~170k each.

There is an index file to explain what is what.

They can be found HERE
