Talking BA headlights into EA, using plan B !

Well one headlight is done, I was going to fit full BA headlights into my EA, but after working out they just didnt slot in, even close to fitting easily (Plan A), yes I was prepared to cut some metal etc, I decided to go with my Plan B, BA internals put into EA headlight, well after alot of hacking, modifying, and stuffing around ...........

That would look unreal if you could do something about the indicator.

Dan,

I am thinking of doing a clear indicator using the BA lens and glass insert, and the EA casing, have to check how close it goes together yet.

I should also add, I have to gloss black spray the inside of the EA light to make it look more complete.

Just a quick question, have you checked how well they work? EA lights are designed with a plain reflector and a lens designed to aim the light. BA lights have a multifocal reflector and a plain lens. I can see a bit of a conflict here! Both from an operational and legal point of view.

It looks very similar to Wayne's E36 headlights. Do they work well?

OK, yes they work well, I have also tested the light reflection/refraction possible issue, and with the multi focal BA reflector, and the EA headlight lens they are not reflected in any way towards a driver, at any angle any worse then an EA standard headlight,.

The light distance, direction, and strength are all comparable to the satndard EA headlight, and to top it all off the light is WHITE not yellow that comes out.

I would love to try a clear lens cover but will have to see how it affects the light as to wether it is better with the EA lens.

The lens is still the same i got with the car, and probably left the factory with, in fact its dirty on the inside and the outside, shows what a difference a shiny reflector can make
